Walking Together: Essential Wellness Joins the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Every year, over 290,000 women in the United States face a breast cancer diagnosis. Each story representing a mother, daughter, sister, or friend whose life changes in an instant.
On October 26, 2024, Essential Wellness stood alongside these warriors at loanDepot park in Miami, where hundreds gathered for more than just a walk – they gathered for hope, for change, and for healing.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk isn’t just another charity event. It’s where medical professionals step out of their clinics, patients share their triumph and struggles, and community members. From our dedicated staff to local law enforcement cadets, we unite under one cause. It’s about fighting a disease that reshapes not just bodies, but entire families and communities.
The event wasn’t just a walk—it was a movement. A 3-to-5-mile journey where survivors, supporters, and advocates stood shoulder to shoulder, proving that no one fights this battle alone.
More than just steps on pavement, the event was filled with powerful moments. These include raw survivor stories that inspired, educational sessions that empowered, and fundraising initiatives that fueled real change.
Every handshake, every hug, every dollar raised was a statement: we’re here, we’re fighting, and we’re not stopping until breast cancer is defeated.

Breast cancer touches the lives of many within our community, including our own patients at Essential Wellness. As a home health agency deeply committed to providing exceptional care, participating in this walk aligned perfectly with our mission to support those we serve beyond traditional healthcare services.

Our team’s participation went beyond just walking; it represented our dedication to being an active force for positive change in South Florida. While we set an ambitious fundraising goal of $2,500, we managed to raise $250 through the generous support of our donors.
Though we didn’t reach our initial target, every dollar contributed makes a difference in the fight against breast cancer. In the next coming years we aim to look for more donors to reach our initial goal.

This inaugural participation in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk marks just the beginning of our commitment to this cause. Essential Wellness has already taken steps to deepen our involvement by applying to become a sponsor for next year’s event.
We envision this becoming an annual tradition, much like our participation in Toys for Tots, where we can bring together even more of our employees, patients, and their caregivers.
Our experience this year has taught us valuable lessons about community engagement and the power of collective action. While we may not have met our initial fundraising goal, we’ve built a foundation for greater impact in the years to come.
The enthusiasm and dedication shown by all participants have inspired us to aim higher and reach further. We aim to continue pushing for a fund raising goal of $2500 for the next coming years to support breast cancer awareness as we deeply believe in the power of community.
